Thanks to Donna Marie for this ComicBookMovie.com piece about who should play Captain America and why the writer’s choice for the lead role is Jason.  The comments following his article were pretty cruel–against his choice–and I feel for him.  He’s just a total Jason fan who got slammed for his opinion…something I can relate to sometimes.  However, I did find out that the movie, “The First Avenger: Captain America”, is in pre-production and may be filmed in Great Britain.  And according to this CinemaSpy.com article, it is completely within the realm of possibility that Jason could be any of the European-based Marvel characters like Captain Britain and Union Jack if not conceivably Captain America.

As comic book fans know, the Sentinel of Liberty’s tale begins during the Second World War in Europe, meaning Great Britain is a potential setting. Marvel has also stated that The First Avenger: Captain America will be their most international movie, so there may be scenes set all over the world.

On the other hand, rumors of a UK shoot have raised expectations that certain European-based Marvel characters could be featured in The First Avenger. These include Captain Britain, a mystical hero with super-strength, flight, and invulnerability bestowed upon him by Merlyn; and Union Jack, an expert athlete and hand-to-hand fighter. Both Union Jack and Captain America were part of the Invaders, an Axis-fighting superhero team.
