Thanks to Betty for this ‘Crank: High Voltage’ interview Jason did for Movies.ie! I don’t recall posting this one anywhere although I do vaguely remember someone mentioning to Jason what Sly said about Rambo taking on The Transporter. Obviously, this was done before Jason met and talked to Stallone about ‘The Expendables’.

I’ve read this interview before, I love his interviews…how he comments back to the questions asked him. I’ve noticed he has a great respect for others…that’s what i love about him.

I think I’ve got it sussed. Jason admits that his films cater to a smaller audience compared to Rambo etc and that got me thinking. Maybe his strategy all along was never to become a huge star making films that cost the earth. Could it be that the plan has been to make low/medium budget films that will rake in more than enough cash from his fan base worldwide to keep everyone in the equation happy. Nothing more, nothing less.

I think you’ve got something there, Punk. I think that its more like he’s doing films he wants to do and having fun with it. What better a job than doing something you enjoy!

I agree with you guys. I’ve always thought that. He’s made comments in interviews a few times about how blessed he feels to ba able to work doing something that he loves, and we’ve all seen how much happier he looks when he’s on set than when he’s just tooling about between films. He really seems content to do the films that he believes in and enjoys as long as they keep paying the bills – not so much just to make tops at the box office and be a mega-star.
This quote from that interview made me smile:
“Q: The dancing reality shows need the people who take part to be fit – would you ever consider being in Dancing with the Stars or Strictly Come Dancing?
JS: “I’m actually hooked on So You Think You Can Dance? It would be nice to do a little tango or a little rock ‘n’ roll jive.””
I just can’t picture J sitting home watching So You Think You Can Dance! And didn’t we have a poll where we all voted that we’d love to see him on a dancing show? I’d love to see him tango . . .

Besides that, hasn’t he said that its the Audi sponsorship that actually pays the bills? So if that’s true then perhaps he’s just enjoying the life, so to speak.

ah i think i remember him saying something about the tango… it would be great to see

well I’m sure that he just does the movies that he enjoys, and obviously he likes working with the directors that he’s worked with. He even says that found something that works for him. I just don’t like when people make fun of him for being either type casted or making fun of the movies he’s in because I don’t want him not to be taken seriously. I guess whatever though if you’ve got haterz let ’em hate and watch the money pile up or whatever fitty cent says? AHAHHA
April 22, 2009 at 5:27 pm
lmfao fitty cent dude i effin love u lmao but u right, let em hate it doesn’t stop his bank account from growing haha oh wait as me and my best friend calls 50 cent… two quarters, and the chamillionaire rapper? chabillionaire lmao
April 22, 2009 at 5:28 pm

April 22, 2009 at 5:59 pm
hahaha well I’d never heard it so it was funny to me. I actually love radio rap though..once you get drunk its so fun to dance to. I used to love getting wasted and trying to dance to soulja boy and trying to pop lock and drop it y’know? It’s funny cause I love country and pop music and rock and even death metal. I literally know the words to sooo many songs, everyone hates it ahaha
April 22, 2009 at 6:00 pm
why do I say literally all the time now..so fucking annoying. Hahaha I get into weird habits where I’ll use a word so much and even throw it in when it doesn’t make sense.
April 22, 2009 at 6:28 pm

Quite interesting reading but I think anyone with an ounce of common sense would know it already?
