Statham Fan

Sheryl Main twittered that today was the last day of filming for ‘The Expendables’ in New Orleans.  They shot during the day with Jason and Charisma.  I wonder how their chemistry was?  I was hoping for a love connection, but doesn’t sound like it happened.  Rats!  Well, our boy should be heading back home to L.A. soon.

Thanks to Ines for this cool photo find!  She emailed me a link to a Mickey Rourke fansite with a photo of the cast of ‘13′.  It’s the first official photo from the film that I’ve seen. 

The majority of you said that you like seeing paparazzi pictures or videos on my site.  I’m kind of relieved only because without them, I may rarely have something to post during Jason’s off time.  I understand how intrusive some paps can be and I don’t condone those who are rude or stalk Jason, especially at his home.  But if he’s out in public, and not being harmed physically or emotionally, I personally don’t see a problem.  After all, he is a celebrity and that comes with the territory.

In this week’s poll, I asked out of the choices given, which would you want the most from Jason.  I know we would want all of them, but if you could only pick one…which one would make you the happiest.

Thanks to Ann128 for more pics from the set of  ‘The Expendables’!  She found them at Charisma Carpenter’s fansite and gave us the link.  Absolutely wonderful!  Sorry about my lateness in posting these.  I was at a wedding all day Saturday way up north.  On the road all day…in the hot sun during the ceremony, but it was beautiful…and so was the bride who we knew.

Anybody have $1,395,000 to spare?  Jason’s selling his Hollywood condo.  Thanks to Court for this Real Estalker link with some interesting revelations.  Among those revelations is that he owns a new place in a guard gated Malibu colony as of this month.  Someone also commented that he doesn’t really live in the other house in Rising Glen.  But didn’t we just see pap video of them stalking him at that house recently?  I doubt that we were watching him and Alex in their driveway at the Malibu place if it’s supposed to be a guard-gated community.

Sheryl Main, unit publicist for ‘The Expendables’, has posted again–her first in almost two weeks.  She mentioned that Jason will be staying for the filming til the bitter end.  They’re supposed to wrap up some time around July 1st.  Does this mean that Jason’s character survives all the carnage of this movie?  Sheryl says that Jason has a lot more scenes to shoot like ”throwing knives and kicking an interloper’s ass on a basketball court(?)”.  Also we have lots of pictures soon to look forward to since she mentioned having 3000 of them to go through…let’s hope she shows us some of Jason doing his thing.

I couldn’t do a post today without acknowledging the passing of both Michael Jackson and Farrah Fawcett yesterday.  It was both shocking and saddening to hear the news.  No matter how they lived their lives or what critics thought of them, especially Michael, our lives were all touched somehow by their talents and celebrity.  I offer my condolences to the family and friends of both and hope Michael and Farrah can now rest in peace.

Thanks to Ines for sending me this MovieBlogUgo.com link with a Sylvester Stallone interview about ‘The Expendables’.  Sheryl Main told us about the press day they had earlier this week so I’m sure we’ll be seeing more from the movie set soon.  Sly mentioned Jason a couple of times.  Here’s what he said about our boy:

Sly:  It’s a film that has poignancy, but it’s not preachy.  It’s dark comedy.  It’s also taking the stereotypes that people think we are, like Jason, you know tough guys, and showing he has problems with women.  ‘Cause I can’t even relate to human beings anymore.  It was all these things that the audience can say, “I sort of identify with.”  So they are very, very tough in their world and extremely weak in the real one.

Yet, this is a romantic film, believe it or not.  Because it’s about this one woman in Latin America that represents this kind of innocence, and this passion, and this willingness to die for a cause.  And then you have Jason, betrayal, and how he recuperates from that.  So you need that.  This isn’t about muscles and bullets.

Q: How was it working with Jet Li and Jason Statham?

Sly:  At first it was like “Oh God,” ’cause we don’t get a chance to rehearse, and they all have a specific style.  But Jason, one of the reasons he wanted to do this was because he was going to go in a different direction. He was going to show the side of him that has been very guarded, the very vulnerable side.

Sheryl Main twittered the other night that Louisiana’s Lieutenant Governor Mitch Landrieu visited ‘The Expendables’ set.  She said that apparently he is a Statham fan!  How great is that?  Out of all the stars on the film, he wanted to meet Jason.  Now that’s a politician with taste.
