Thanks to Betty for emailing this link to a neat Jason mention. How cool would it be to actually have a Jason Statham Film Festival? He certainly has enough works to warrant one.
ACTORS: Scores of brave thespians and Maria Carey have accompanied their films to Cannes this year, but even if they don’t make it to the Riviera’s edge in person, some actors can still dominate the festival. British bare-knuckle action man Jason Statham is on such a disproportionate number of posters advertising films along the beachfront, that the uninformed might think this is the Jason Statham Film Festival.

um… where the popcorn at? um… POPCORN! lmao
May 17, 2009 at 11:14 am
Gotta have popcorn with lots of butter and jujufruit!

If i was there that is what i would want to see more of Jason or read something about his movies.
Looking through your related posts I saw “Jason has faith in Revolver” i do too! I saw that show a few months back and i really liked it. My son didn’t even know that show was even out there and when he saw it,he liked it so much he watched it more then once, of course i had to go in his room to bring it down weeks later along with all my other Jason shows he was accumulating up there. They should generate some good advertise towards this movie i’m pretty sure some people just don’t know it is out there.

Milk Duds and Popcorn

am I the only one who hates movie theater popcorn? It’s way too buttery and salty and ughhh. After the first few bites I’m done. I agree with the skittles and raisinets though but I usually go to the movies to stop myself from eating ahaha because otherwise I’m an unstoppable bottomless pit that will devour anything in it’s path. Okay I’m finished haha.

We’re so gross about the theatre popcorn. I always ask the concession worker to fill it half way so I can douse it with butter and popcorn salt, then we get it filled up and douse it another time. Gross, huh? Always make sure we have tons of napkins too.
May 17, 2009 at 1:56 pm
oh wow they can do that? sounds yummy lol
@logan: i can agree cause everything does cost a lot… the only thing i get is popcorn, and i just steal my friend’s candy hahaha
May 17, 2009 at 1:58 pm
i meant the going to the movies to stop eating lol

I have a friend who worked in a theatre and he says NEVER eat the popcorn! It’s not uncommon for them to reheat the “butter” over and over again, including the stuff from the day before. Also, he says no one heats it to the proper sanitary temperature anyway because it would pretty much dissolve the popcorn.
In other words, the only time I eat movie theatre popcorn is when I’ve made it in my microwave.

Yikes! I guess I should thank you TLS for the tip. Oleredhead has the right idea then about bringing your own food. Ha! But I might have to pretend I didn’t hear about all of that. We plan to go to the movies in a couple weeks to see Adrien Brody’s movie The Brothers Bloom.

I usually just take a pack of gum and call it good. Wow – I can barely afford to get in much less get a bunch of food too.
Count me in for a Jason Film Festival…All Jason, all the time!!
May 17, 2009 at 3:26 pm
oh yeah… when the whole family goes to the movies, or to six flags, we bring in either a purse or a backpack of food: canned soda, Italian subs, microwaved popcorn, and candy… we don’t play around lmao
May 17, 2009 at 4:24 pm
Italian Subs??? I don’t think they let you in our movie theaters if you’re carrying a bag that smells better than anything at the snack bar lol
May 17, 2009 at 5:13 pm
a jason film festival is not a bad idea!
May 17, 2009 at 5:49 pm
that’s why we double or triple wrap them and close the bags lmao
May 17, 2009 at 5:55 pm
Italian subs are what we take into the racetrack! Love our Italian subs! You can count on us doing that this coming weekend at the Indy 500. Of course, we tailgate from the wee early morning hours so the subs are our snacks during the race. You guys have no idea how preoccupied I’ve been this month with the race stuff. Jason’s killing me with his Expendables goings on at the same time. I love Jason, but May is usually reserved for Indycar racing!

I used to go to the Indy car races during the Rose Festival in Portland, Oregon every year. The company I worked for back then did all of the two way radios for the event and we got free tickets. Haven’t been for years, but I tell ya there’s nothing like the sound of those cars I love it (course I’ve done more in the way of 1/4 mile dirt track watching for stock and sprint cars). Gotta say, I’m kinda jealous, Jayfan!

War, In the Name of King, and Snatch have all been playing on the premium movie channels. There have been two days in the past month or so that the three of them have been on within half an hour of each other and I spent the whole day watching them…I’d call that a Jason Statham film festival!
May 17, 2009 at 11:20 pm
TLS, I’ve done the same thing on days when I was home sick or something – all Jason, all day long! There is nothing wrong with home made Jason film fests!
They reuse the “butter” and the popcorn at most movie theaters now, I think. I put that in quotes because at most major theaters, it’s more of a flavored oil – it never actually congeals at any tempeature, the way butter should at room temperature. Hubby worked at a small local theater in law school because he could do homework while the movies were playing. I learned a lot about popcorn then . . . ick. I LOVE movie popcorn, but I always get it without the butter.

any word on if Dianes pictures of jason in nola came on yet, been checking everyday, havent seen them, I know she was having trouble trying to get them online
May 18, 2009 at 12:13 am
That’s exactly why I used quotes around butter! Blah. When my friend told me these horror stories I was shocked yet not surprised. I think, though, there should be disclaimers or something–especially since the crap is so expensive.

Haven’t heard from Diana yet. I’m sure she’ll get it worked out and send us something. She can email me at stathamfangirl@yahoo.com.
