Having Jason do Stallone’s movie ‘The Expendables’ is sounding better all the time. MovieHole.com has reported that Sly is trying to get Forest Whitaker to join his gang. That would make two Oscar winners in a film with Jason. I think our boy has finally become the actor who gets roles that really make people stand up and notice. I think it started with ‘The Bank Job’. People got to see that Jason can really act and all that action hero stuff and driving expertise are just a bonus.
And some sites have this article reporting about Stallone casting ugly guys for his next movie. Oh man! Them thar’s fightin’ words! Did people forget that Jason was Handsome Rob? Obviously, Stallone is talking about himself, but if he wants ugly….they’re going to have to use a lot of makeup on Jason to ugly him up.

Stallone is very ugly, I think what Stallone seeks, is a casting choice of ugly boys, so that that Stallone appears more handsome, but with Jason is not going to get, but because Jason is not the most handsome actor’s of the world, but he is very attractive, and has a “something” that attracts almost all women.

All visions of getting sweaty with Jason in the jungle aside, I agree with you, Jayfan. Jason is getting some higher profile notice as an actor. Yes, he works all of the time – keeping his name and face out there is what brings in the jobs. He’s created a ‘brand’ for himself as an action actor. Now he’s positioned to carefully branch out into more ‘dramatic’ roles in order to enlarge his credits/appeal. He can’t stay an action actor doing his own stunts forever. Age alone will determine that – any pro athlete knows they are running against the clock before their body just can’t respond the way it used to and Jason is undeniably an athlete. He’s said that he has had cartilage taken off of one knee and his ankles are messed up. Ten, twenty years down the line, he’ll probably be up on stage for an Oscar for work that has nothing to do with leaping a jetski after a moving bus.

i thought sly was joking about the ugly thing and forrest whittaker joining was a joke also. i hope forrest joining the cast is for real cuz he is for real the man is super talented, i like him alot, j could learn from him that’d be a good experience for him!!!

Does anyone know when Crank 2 is supposed to come out? I was browsing through the theatre releases and I got all the way up to July 2009 and I never seen it.
Interesting though my friends boyfriend brought over a movie called Taken with Liam Neeson (it’s a downloaded version) and I noticed it doesn’t get released till January 2009! But I think it’s a British film so it may be released overseas already?

According to IMDB Crank 2 is supposed to be released 04/17/09 but that can change since it’s still in post-production mode. Let’s hope it’s sooner than later.
Hope this helps and as far as Sly looking for ugly actors he should take a good look in the mirror cause he already got the ugliest guys in the show.

Stallone must have used the same plastic surgeon his mother used and she looks awful. People age, that’s natural, live with it. He’s not a bad actor but he needs to just admit he’s not in his prime any more and show a little dignity..

Hey… I think Stallone meant “Ugly” as in not “pretty boys”.
Jason is certainly not a “pretty boy” His looks exude a male rugged magnetism… which could be defined by some as on the “ugly” side… as opposed to classic handsome… or again… pretty boy.
