Statham Fan

Thanks to loyal fangirl Maria for this picture of Jason and Clifton at the Bullrun Rally High-Jacks Through The West Coast Approaching Grand Finale at Studio 944 West Hollywood on June 25th.  Jason doesn’t look so dorky in the baseball cap in this photo.  Maybe it’s because you can hardly see it. 

A guy over at 411Mania.com finally got around to seeing ‘Revolver’ and decided to do his review for the film.  You’ll have to scroll further down his page to see what he says.  Didn’t seem too bad of a review so I wanted to give you the link.  From other comments he’s made over time, I think this guy’s a bonafide Jason fan.  Only thing I have a problem with is he mentions that ‘Revolver’ is one of the few movies Jason appears in with hair.  So?  He’s an actor so I’m sure that if the character calls for it, he will have hair sometimes or not.   In any case, Jason has hair…it’s just shaved short in most of his movies.   Maybe the writer meant long hair.  I guess he’s never seen ‘London’, ‘Ghost of Mars’, ‘The One’ or any of the Guy Ritchie movies?

MovieWeb.com has its weekly Boos and Whoop-Doos for the week.  They mention Comic Con and the “web geeks” panel which will be moderated by the creators/directors of ‘Crank’ and ‘Crank 2′.  Still don’t know if Jason will show up.  But since both ‘Crank 2′ and ‘Death Race’ will be featured at some point at the event…I would think he would make an appearance and kill two birds with one stone.

2008 Comic Con Webmaster Panel? Whoop-doo! Do you want to see exclusive early clips from Crank 2: High Voltage and Game? Do you want to meet and greet some of the Internet’s best journalistic personalities and writers? Well, then, you are in luck, as Robert Sanchez of IESB has once again gone and coordinated another Comic Con Webmasters panel, this time entitled “Wrath of Con”. (Trauma Con is more like it!) This time out, directors Mark Neveldine and Brian Taylor will be moderating and bringing video from their two upcoming projects that you can’t see anywhere else. It should be a lot of fun.

Thanks again to Maria for some paparazzi pictures of Jason out and about in L.A. last night!  Looks like he had some Italian food at Dan Tana’s restaurant in West Hollywood.  He’s one brave guy to wear a white shirt while eating Italian food.  He really doesn’t look like a happy camper, does he?  I feel bad for him, but at the same time…I love seeing pictures of him in real life!

Note:  New visitor to my site, Court, has informed me that the facade in the background is actually the Foxtail.  He really likes that place.  I guess going during the week is best for him…must be less crowded.

Small blurb from E! Online in Yahoo News says that Jason made $5 million for making ‘Crank 2: High Voltage’.  I guess that’s pretty huge now considering “they” say the industry is tired of stars getting $20 million salaries.  Jason’s come a long way from being part of an ensemble cast or small independent productions where his pay wasn’t as big.  However, I hope he doesn’t change as a person.  You know how money and fame can change people for the worse.  I hope he doesn’t become one of ”those” celebrities who are rude to their fans and demanding divas during their shoots.  Somehow I can’t see that happening because he seems so nice, but you never know.

ShockTilYouDrop.com has the first look at the one-sheet/movie poster for ‘Death Race’.  Pretty cool!  They have all the key players in the film, but Jason’s face is the biggest so we know who the star of the movie is.  The art work is good, but there is something slightly off in each of the actors/actresses mugs.  The eyes don’t look quite right.  They almost look like those look-a-like wax museum celebrities.  Ha!  Anyway…I’m just glad the promotional wheels are rolling for the movie.

We successfully taped Spike TV’s Guys Choice Awards Sunday night!  Of course, we only watched it until Jason and Natalie’s part was done.  My wonderful enabler husband has edited and uploaded the video to YouTube (while I was cooking dinner tonight) for all of us!  Thank you sweetie pie! 

Female First.co.uk is truly a Jason fangirl site.  I’ve only seen good things about Jason and his work in the past.  They have put up this page for ‘In the Name of the King: A Dungeon Siege Tale’ and actually given the DVD three out of five stars!  That ain’t bad.  I’ve seen critics blast this film and give it low marks so it’s refreshing to see Jason’s true fans give the movie a chance and higher marks.  And Jason didn’t even promote the movie.

My humble blogsite had a ton of hits in the last week…over double of what I’m used to and I owe it to Jason’s growing popularity and the release of the ‘Transporter 3′ and ‘Death Race’ trailers.  When I started this site in March of 2007, I had no idea what to expect.  I didn’t know if I would continue after a few months of nothing special.  But you guys hung in there for me and encouraged me to go on.  And now, with all that’s been going on with Jason and all the wonderful things in his future and ours, I’m so grateful to you all and for this fun hobby of mine.  ‘The Bank Job’ DVD is due out soon.  ‘Death Race’ is going to be released in the theaters on August 22nd (which is also my wedding anniversary–I know what I want for my present!).  ‘Transporter 3′ is due out maybe on Thanksgiving.  It’s a great time to be a Jason Statham fan!
