May 2007

I had some free time this weekend after the race and decided to upload my favorite song from ‘The Transporter’ movie to YouTube.  It’s DJ Pone & Drixxxe’s ‘Fighting Man’.  It’s from the first and my favorite fight scene from the film.  I put some caps from that scene to the music so you’d have something to look at.  Hope you enjoy it!  Hope YouTube keeps it!

Lionsgate, the studio behind ‘War’, is rolling in the dough!  They just acquired $200 million and along with their $200 mil, they will be $400 million strong for the next three years.  That means lots of money for future production needs and promotional purposes.  Does this mean Lionsgate will foot the bill for a ‘War’ promotional tour?  Will we be able to see Jason this summer plugging the film on various talk shows?  Let’s hope that’s what’s in store for us!

I’ve never heard of someone reviewing a movie trailer, but Blog Critics Magazine has just that.  By all accounts, the movie does sound promising judging from its trailer.  I just hope it can survive the hype.  Of course, this reviewer seems like a new convert to the Jason fan club.  He didn’t know that Jet Li and Jason have already made a movie together, ‘The One’, so having them in ‘War’ wasn’t such a new concept.  However, the tables have turned over the years.  Looks like Jason may be the true winner this time around.

This is my blog so I get to wish my husband a very Happy Birthday!!!   He is the hottest, sexiest, sweetest, most kind and handsome man in the world (Sorry, Jason).  My honey bunny inspires and awes me every day.  He’s the best enabler for this goofy hobby of mine, with these posts I do here and at another actor’s blogsite.  It’s about sharing my thoughts and passion for Jason and the other actor, but my husband fuels that all with his encouragement, love, patience and interest (take notes guys).   So to my sweetie pie, Happy Birthday and I hope you enjoyed our time at the race!!!!!  I love you!!!!!

We knew he liked hip hop/rap, but I didn’t realize just how much.  According to this report, he likes it a lot.  Enough to get all excited about meeting Snoop Dogg at a nightclub in Cannes.  He was with Jean Claude Van Damme at the time, probably talking about his movie making future (see earlier post).

At the back of the club, a strange twosome are jumping up and down – Jean Claude Van Damme and Jason Statham. They got really excited when Snoop Dogg turned up in the club at the end of the evening for an impromptu rapping session.

By the way, the Indy 500 was fabulous!  Yes, we got drenched, but it was worth it.  Television never does it justice.  You really have to be there to see and feel the excitement.  Hope you’re there next year, Jason!  Congratulations to Dario Franchitti on his win!

We’re getting ready to go to the greatest spectacle in racing….the Indy 500!  It’s our yearly tradition to participate in the celebration of this wonderful event.  This year’s celebrities include Patrick Dempsey, Ellen Pompeo, Ray Liotta, Daughtry, Ludacris, Peyton Manning and then usual gang of suspects…David Letterman, Jesse Metcalfe, some soap opera people and a ton of old timers.  I keep hoping Jason is one of the esteemed celebrities at the race, but I don’t think he’s here this year.  Too much fun in Cannes wore him out.  Well, I have to go pack the coolers.  If you are watching this wherever you are around the world, I’ll be the one in the stands around the finish line before turn four waving to you!  I’m rooting for Dan Dan the Man Wheldon to win.  My husband likes those Penske guys, Helio and Sam.  No doubt this will be a great race!

chaos.jpgWe finally have the movie ‘Chaos’ and got to see it for the first time last night.  Wow!  Great film!  Although the beginning of the storyline seemed a bit familiar (‘Inside Man’, Clive Owen, Denzel Washington) it finally seemed to have a life of its own after all that bank robbery stuff was over.  There was a lot of information and some confusion as to what was going on at times, but Jason’s acting was superb.  I was a little disappointed that lot of the action scenes only involved Ryan Phillipe…I mean, who wants to see a little boy on a motorcycle chase or his wimpy fight scene with Wesley Snipes?  But, in the end, without giving out spoilers, it all seemed to make sense why Jason wasn’t the one having all the action sequences.  He got to concentrate more on his acting and I liked that.   Note:  My favorite scene in the movie is when a girl cop snubs him by giving him the finger and his smirk/smile is priceless.  It almost seemed like he wasn’t supposed to do that, but they didn’t do a re-take or cut it out.  It just seemed like the real Jason was behind that smirk and he was amused by her part in the scene.  I waited to see this movie for a long time and it was well worth the wait!  I recommend getting the DVD for your Jason collection!

Every little bit helps.  Having said that, there are bits and pieces of Jason related news here and there.  Mostly things we’ve already heard before, but as I mentioned in an earlier post, we’re coming to another dry spell so I’ll take what I can get.  If you haven’t seen the ‘War’ trailer, check it out….it’s awesome!  And, of course, we now know it’s final, Jason will star in ‘Death Race 3000′/’Death Race’ (they keep going back and forth on the title) and will be in Montreal with Mr. Cruise to film it some time soon.   So that you don’t have to search for that tidbit.  Here it is…

Local industry players got news this week that Death Race 3000 will be produced here. This is a remake of the 1975 cult classic Death Race 2000 that starred David Carradine and Sylvester Stallone in a story set in the future about a violent road race that takes place between New York and Los Angeles. The remake will star British actor Jason Statham and is being produced by Tom Cruise and his producing partner Paula Wagner.

It’s seems the only news about Jason right now is his pleasure dive in Cannes.  I guess it’s better than seeing him on some sleazy tabloid doing something naughty.  The media reports so little about him and when they do, it’s something like this.  Wish we could get more Jason news with substance.  It’s not that I don’t love seeing his great body and beautiful diving form, you know I do!  But let’s hope that with all his many movies soon to be released, they could actually mention his other talent….acting.

I’m an American and proud of it, but forgive me for not knowing that soccer player, David Beckham can act.  I thought he was only famous in his sport and for being married to a no-talent Spice girl.  This short article says he and Jason are going to be in a war/soccer movie called ‘Truce’.   This is the first I’ve heard of this in regards to our guy.  Has anybody else heard about this movie?  Jay was great as Monk in Mean Machine, but all he had to do was look scary, grunt and act like an animal.  He made a great goalie in that movie, so how much you wanna bet they make him the goalie again in this movie?

………………….Okay, I just read that Beckham was asked to do a cameo, but may decline.  So is Jason committed to ‘Truce’ or not?   Does this mean a starring role for Jason?  He’s on a roll with the movie roles!  Nice to see Jason become a hot commodity!
